sixBeth Green has spent over six decades challenging systems of injustice and offering grounded support to those on the front lines of change. Tracked by the FBI at age 12, arrested three times for protesting, and expelled from Smith College without a hearing for her anti-nuclear activism, Beth’s political journey is as bold as it is enduring.

She served as West Coast Coordinator for the Wages for Housework Campaign in the 1970s, advocating for the economic recognition of women’s labor. She’s been a regular contributor to the San Diego News Network and The Huffington Post, hosted livestreamed commentaries, and developed frameworks for resilience and political clarity during times of crisis.Living with chronic illness since age 15, Beth is a fierce advocate not just for action—but for sustainability in activism. Her work now focuses on helping people stay emotionally centered, intellectually alert, and strategically useful in an age of fear, disinformation, and social collapse.

She is the author of six books, a composer of six original music albums, and a former segment producer for NBC’s Saturday Show in Los Angeles.

1945
Born in New York City to working-class Jewish parents.
1954
Became a radical at age 9 after watching the Army-McCarthy Hearings, reading about the Spanish Civil War, and opposing the addition of "Under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance, leading to a threat of expulsion from elementary school.
1960
At age 15, became severely ill and bedridden for a year and a half, received minimal formal schooling, but graduated high school with the highest English SAT score in her school's history.
1960s
At age 16, wrote a letter to the New York Times opposing nuclear proliferation, which was published globally, appeared on a Pete Seeger album cover, and resulted in her expulsion from Smith College without a hearing. Continued dedicated activism in the anti-Vietnam War and women’s movements, and more.
1974-1978
Served as West Coast Coordinator of the Wages for Housework Campaign, advocating for the recognition of “women’s work” in the economy, actively engaged in full-time activism despite poor health, and was extensively interviewed on radio and television.
1970s
